IFC invested $1.2 bn in Egypt since 2011 - Official

Cairo - Mubasher: International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has invested nearly $1.2 billion in 18 projects in Egypt since 2011, said Nada Shousha, IFC Country Manager for Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.

Such investments come in the framework of the institutions efforts to boost Egypt's economic growth, as well as provide job opportunities, added Shousha on the sideline of MEED's Egypt Mega Projects Conference in Cairo. .

IFC works on improving the contribution of the private sector in supporting the country's national economy, noted Shousha.

Elaborted, the country manager pointed out that IFC is not competing with the banks in respect to financing the private sector, but they working side by side.
