Mubasher: The managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, signed staff monitoring agreement to observe an economic programme set by the Iraqi government.
The agreement doesn’t involve financial aids, the bank said, only providing the country with technical support to cut expenditure and improve the financial system.
Earlier in November 2015, IMF and Iraq reached an agreement to help the country build an adequate track record which can improve its possibilities to secure finances.
Iraq aims to reduce the non-oil deficit by $20 billion or 12% of the total Iraqi growth domestic product in the period between 2013 and 2016.
