Cairo – Mubasher: The board of the International Monetary Fund will conduct a meeting on Tuesday 19 December to discuss providing Egypt with the second tranche of a three years $3 billion loan.
The second tranche will amount to $1 billion and aims to boost the country’s economic reform program, said Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
Last September, Egypt received the first tranche that stood at $1 billion.
The country’s foreign reserves have declined sharply from $36 billion before 2011 uprising to $23.05 billion by the end of last November.
