IMF delegation to visit Egypt end July

Cairo - Mubasher: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation visiting Egypt on Saturday 30 July, will announce the outcomes of the visit two weeks later, Masood Ahmed Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department told Mubahser on Wednesday.

The Egyptian government has asked for financial support from the IMF, and the international organization is welcoming this, he added.

The IMF looks forward to discuss the policies that could help Egypt in facing economic challenges, restore stability and achieve a strong and sustainable growth.

The Egyptian government officially announced it is planning to borrow $12 billion from the IMF within the next three years, in order to support the country's budget deficit and foreign exchange reserves.
