India’s SpiceJet to launch direct flights to Jeddah in March

Mubasher: India’s SpiceJet on Monday announced launching flights from Hyderabad in South India to Jeddah.

The new daily flight to the Saudi city starting on 25 March will be the Indian budget carrier’s third destination in the Middle East, Arabian Business reported.

The Indian airline also operates flights to Dubai and Muscat from several cities in India.

Being the first Indian low-cost airline to fly to the kingdom, the new service “will greatly benefit pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia and [its] state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX promises an unparalleled experience to all [its] guests,” SpiceJet’s chairman and managing director Ajay Singh said.

It is worth mentioning that the King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah represents one of the main transit points for thousands of Hajj pilgrims around the world.

SpiceJet will provide above 2,500 seats weekly in its flights on the route, with a special all inclusive fare of $188 for Hyderabad – Jeddah and $150 for Jeddah - Hyderabad.
