Indian firm mulls $40m phosphate plant in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: India's Sun Group is examining building a new phosphate production plant in Egypt at a capital of $40 million (EGP 749.80 million), the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement Friday.

The project will be implemented in cooperation with Phosphate Misr and another Egyptian company, the ministry revealed.

The project will contribute to increasing Egyptian phosphate and boost market share in terms of exports to global markets, it added.

Should the project be approved, it will be established in Aswan, the statement showed.

Sun Group operates in a number of Arab and African markets including: Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal and South Africa.
