Cairo – Mubasher: The Chairman of the National Organization for Social Insurance (NOSI), Gamal Awad, said that institutions and insured people were exempt from the payment of EGP 2.3 billion under the penalty waiver law no. 173 of 2020 which came into effect on 17 August, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Sunday.
About 132,000 institutions submitted requests to settle their outstanding payments, of which about 32,000 have already settled their debt before 17 August and obtained total exemption from the delay penalty, he added.
Moreover, 100,000 institutions received 90% exemption and about 14,500 of insured citizens also benefited from the exemption law.
All institutions and insured citizens can still get 90% exemption from their delayed payments if the payment is made before 15 October.
