Investcorp, Austrian VAMED launch hospital complex in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Bahrain Investcorp, a global investment corporation, has announced the closure of a partnership agreement with Austria-based VAMED, an international hospital services provider, to construct a hospital complex on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi.

The new complex incorporates a state-of-the-art and specialised rehabilitation centre combined with a children and women hospital and a family medical centre, according to a company statement released on Monday.

The first phase of the hospital will comprise over 100-bed rehabilitation centre, which is scheduled for inauguration at the end of 2019, and will be built and operated by VAMED.

“Our investment strategy and commitment to the healthcare sector is in line with the UAE National Agenda and long-term economic plans, under its Vision 2021,” Investcorp’s executive chairman Mohammed Alardhi commented.

The second phase will comprise an over 100-bed children and women hospital, Investcorp revealed.

The project is backed by an international investment consortium led by Investcorp.

“Al Reem Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre represents an essential building block of Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030,” Blue Apple Partners’ Co-founder and, promoter of the project Zaid Daoud Al Siksek said.

The second phase will comprise an over 100-bed children and women hospital, Investcorp revealed.

The new venture’s cost was not revealed.
