Investment banks to help privatise KSA water firms before 2017-end – Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia tends to privatise some water sectors in the Kingdom and will start with the available companies, Saudi Minister of Water, Environment and Agriculture said.

Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli told Mubasher that the ministry took advanced steps in that regard by appointing investment banks to help in privitising these firms before the end of the year.

The minister noted that the ministry seeks the privatisation of the desalination sector for its huge volume, as its assets exceed SAR 100 billion.

Moreover, Al Fadli pinpointed that the ministry got SAR 92 billion from the Saudi government to achieve 16 strategic goals.
