IoT solutions provider Workz introduces MENA 1st 5G SIM

Dubai – Mubasher: Workz Group, the mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, on Wednesday announced the launch of its first 5G SIM card that will support the coming generation of cellular mobile communications required to drive the IoT. 

Workz is the first manufacturer to produce 5G SIMs in the Middle East and Africa, the Dubai-based firm said in a statement.

5G networks are expected to be 20 times faster with 100 times more capacity capable of serving over one million IoT devices per square kilometre.

The new speed will facilitate connection with new applications and capabilities to manage life-critical situations such as emergency services and autonomous driving as well as mission-critical instances such as smart manufacturing, energy and agriculture, Workz noted. 

“Our aim is to deliver ready-to-use, forward-looking technology to enable our customers to realise their IoT visions. With manufacturing facilities in Europe and Dubai, we can quickly provide 5G SIMs to support mobile network operators, device manufacturers and service providers for both proof-of-concept testing and commercial market-launch,” Tor Malmros, co-CEO of Workz, commented.

In the same vein, the UAE’s Du looking to launch the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks by the end of 2019.

It is worth mentioning that 5G technology is currently operating in 40 countries across the world.
