Iraq's economy likely to recover in 2016 - World Bank

Mubasher: Iraq is expected to see economic growth of 3.1% in 2016, on the recovery of the oil and non-oil sectors, according to a report published by the World Bank.

The country's economic growth stood at 0.5% in 2015.

The report expects that both the MENA region and North Africa to witness economic growth of 5.1% in 2016, up from 2.5% in 2015.

The World Bank attributed its positive expectations to the anticipated lifting of the sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program will have a significant impact on the world oil market.
