Mubasher: Iraq’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) was up 2.3% last year, according to a government spokesman.
The rise was triggered by higher prices of the increasing food and housing, planning ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi said, as they moved 3.7% and 2.6% up respectively. He stated that the CPI edged up 0.3% in December.
Three governorates were excluded from the said statistics due to the security situation, the spokesman added.
