Iraqi C. Bank denies plans to change exchange rate

Mubasher: The Central Bank (CBI) of Iraq said on Sunday it has no intention to amend the IQD exchange rate.

Denying earlier reports, the bank clarified that changing the exchange rate of the Iraqi currency is an unlikely step, especially after the value has already been fixed in the country’s budget, in agreement with the government and the International Monetary Fund.

CBI suggested that reducing the IQD value will harm the purchasing power of Iraqi citizens.
