Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's iron and steel exports increased 10% year-on-year reaching $81 million in December 2017 from $73 million, the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) said in a new report.
Spain topped the importers’ list with a total value of $16.6 million.
On the other hand, Egypt's exports to the US hiked 400% to $11.5 million in December 2017, versus $2.3 million in the same period the year before, according to the report.
Similarly, exports to Saudi Arabia surged 89% year-on-year to $8.4 million in the final month of 2017, while exports to both Turkey and Italy declined 38% and 93%, respectively.
In the first 10 months of 2017, Egypt’s total exports levelled up to $21.1 billion compared to $17.85 billion in the same period in the prior year.
