Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s investment and international cooperation minister on Monday said that almost 1,204 Italian firms have invested around $4 billion in the country.
These investments were made into the fields of infrastructure, oil and gas, financial services, logistics, chemicals and petrochemical industries, renewable energy, and ready-made clothing, Sahar Nasr added in a statement.
Nasr also referred to around 1,000 investment opportunities in various fields across the North African state.
This came on the sidelines of the minister’s meeting with the chairman of SIMEST and head of institutional affairs at the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) during her visit to Italy’s capital, Rome.
The Egyptian investment ministry is bolstering entrepreneurship and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Nasr stress.
She noted that the investment law includes tax and non-tax incentives to support entrepreneurs’ projects to grow.
