Cairo – Mubasher: Italy’s Eni is planning to start drilling its 10th well in Egypt’s offshore gas field Zohr in January 2019 at a cost of $300 million, a source said.
Drilling activities are expected to last for two months and the well’s production rate is projected to reach 200 million cubic feet of gas per day, Alborsa News reported, citing the source.
The source added that production from the 10th well depends on the completion of Eni’s sixth treatment plant, expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2019.
Earlier this month, the Italian oil and gas firm had to shut the ninth well of the supergiant gas field after being drilled due to lack of capacity at its existing treatment plants.
