Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) on Sunday announced it has appointed Gulf Contractors Company (GCC) to begin enabling works for the recently launched AED 5 billion Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi.
Enabling works are due completion in January 2020, according to a press release.
Accordingly, GCC will dig and place over 2.5 million cubic metres of material to create the formation level for over 40 kilometres of roadways and more than 800 residential properties, JIIC said.
As for the grading plan for the community, the design team developed the extraordinary features of the site, including the hills at the North and West ends of the project to improve the overall character of the property to boost expansive views of the waterfront and downtown skyline.
Mounir Haidar, managing director of JIIC, said: “Offering housing, commercial, leisure, and freehold investment opportunities, particularly for Emiratis and expatriates, is a central planning element for Jubail Island and today’s announcement confirms the timely delivery of the newly launched project in conformity with leading construction and environmental standards.”
“Jubail Island will include wildlife preservation areas and other conservation zones, complementing an elegant residential and commercial setting in a low-density community. This unrivalled combination will contribute to shaping a premier investment destination in the capital city of Abu Dhabi,” Haidar added.
Strategically located between Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, and Abu Dhabi city, Jubail Island is only 10 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and a 50-minute drive from Dubai Marina, the release highlighted.
Spanning over 400 hectares, the destination will consist of a mix of serviced plots, high-end and mid-range properties, and retail, office park, and food and beverage outlets.
Furthermore, Jubail Island is expected to become Abu Dhabi’s “most sought-after residential sanctuary for wellness and nature enthusiasts,” the release noted.
The new landmark is set to feature six investment zone villages, namely Marafaa Al Jubail, Nad Al Dhabi, Seef Al Jubail, Ain Al Maha, Souk Al Jubail, and Bed’a Al Jubail.
The development is expected to improve the island’s natural ecosystem with a Pearl Rating from Abu Dhabi’s Estidama certification system through planting new mangrove forests, building extensive canals, and adding other new marine habitats, JIIC said.
Moreover, visitors of the project will also enjoy upscale outdoor areas, including parks, hiking paths, kayaking stations, and cycling routes.
