Dubai – Mubasher: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) managed to attract 470 new companies during 2016, DP World group chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said.
The number of companies grew 7% over the previous five years.
Of the 470 companies established in Jafza, 58% came from the Middle East, followed by those from the Asia-Pacific region at 21%, Europe at 16%, Americas at 3%, and Africa at 2%.
More than 972,000 service transactions were executed by Jafza customers in 2016, compared to 938,000 in 2015, bin Sulayem added.
