Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has signed an EGP 15.5 million grant agreement with Japan for setting up a system to calculate the value-added tax (VAT).
This agreement contributes to the effective implementation of the fiscal policy and reinforcing economic reform programmes, and bolstering development plans for Egypt, according to a statement by the Egyptian investment and international cooperation ministry on Sunday.
The agreement was signed by the Egyptian investment and international cooperation minister Sahar Nasr and the Japanese ambassador to Cairo Takehiro Kagawa.
This came on the sidelines of the first meeting of a joint committee between the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the investment ministry to facilitate procedures for the businesspeople.
