Mubasher: Japanese delegation led by the special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for EXPO 2025 Shigeru End visited Qatar to obtain its support to Japan's World Expo 2025 bid, according to Qatar Chamber statement on Tuesday.
Japan hopes that Qatar extends support for Osaka’s bid to host this global exposition, Endo said.
There are two other cities competing for hosting Expo 2025 along with Osaka including Yekaterinburg in Russia and Baku in Azerbaijan, the chamber told Mubasher.
The meeting reviewed mechanisms of enhancing cooperation relations between the private sector in both countries.
There are around 170 delegates representing member countries of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) will elect the host country of the 2025 World Expo in November 2018.
By the end of January 2018, France announced that it withdrew its bid for holding the World Expo 2025.
