Mubasher: The Japanese airline group ANA HOLDINGS decided to order up to 20 additional Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The deal includes 11 787-10 jets, one 787-9 and options for five 787-9 airplanes valued at above $5 billion at list prices, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The air carrier also plans to add three new 787-9 jets from Atlantis Aviation Corporation.
Once finalised, the agreements will bring the airline group’s fleet of the planes to above 100.
The executive vice president of ANA and ANA HD, Yutaka Ito, said, “Boeing's 787s have served ANA with distinction, and we are proud to expand our fleet by adding more of these technologically-advanced aircraft,”
The new 787 airplanes will be powered by engines, manufactured by GE Aviation, that achieves 25% better fuel efficiency per seat of the 787-10 jets.
