Japan unemployment rate settles at 2.8% in October

Mubasher: Japan’s unemployment rate remained steady at 2.8% in October, in line with the improvement of Jobs’ availability to the highest level in nearly 44 years.  

The number of employed people in Japan edged up 0.9% year-on-year to 65.81 million persons in October, according to data published by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on Friday.

On the other hand, the number of unemployed people dwindled 7.2% to 1.81 million persons.

By 12:21 pm GMT time, the Japanese Yen settled against the US Dollar at JPY 112.37.
