Japanese stocks fall; foreign stock investments rise

Mubasher: Japanese stocks saw a negative performance on Thursday, shrugging off the rise of foreign stock investments.

The foreign investments rose to reach a record of ¥364.1 billion as at the week ended 29 January, compared to ¥190.4 billion the week earlier, according to Japan's Minister of Finance.

The Nikkei-225 stock average declined 0.85% to reach 17,044.99 points.

The broader Topix index decreased 1.2% to 1,388.81 points.

The JPX-Nikkei 400 Index fell 1.2% to stand at 12,532.60 points.
