Mubasher: Japanese stocks closed in the green on Monday for the first time in seven sessions, amid a rebound in oil prices.
Nikkei 225 increased 0.7% to reach 16,216.03 points, according to a data by MarketWatch.
The broader Topix index advanced 0.6% to close at 1,306.66 points.
The Japanese yen fell 0.4% against US dollar which rose to ¥107.5.
The Shanghai Composite Index retreated 2.7% to 2,832.58 points.
