Mubasher: Jazeera Airways reported a 171.2% year-on-year profit hike during the second quarter of 2019.
Net profits recorded KWD 4.8 million ($15.8 million) in Q2-19, compared to KWD 1.8 million ($5.92 million) in Q2-18, according to the company’s statement to Boursa Kuwait on Monday.
The number of travellers increased by 12% year-on-year during the three-month period ended in June.
Moreover, the company’s operating income jumped by 29.5% year-on-year to KWD 26 million in Q2-19, while operating profit hit KWD 4.8 million over the same quarter.
For the first half of 2019, net profits of the Kuwaiti carrier soared by 335.1% to KWD 6.2 million, from KWD 1.4 million in H1-18.
It is worth noting that Jazeera Airways turned profitable during Q1-19, achieving profits of KWD 1.5 million.
