Jordan PM opens UAE-funded petroleum storage facility

UAE – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has participated in the inauguration of AED 771 million ($210 million) Petroleum Storage Facilities project in Jordan with Jordanian prime minister Omar Razzaz.

With a holding capacity of 356,000 tonnes, the project is fully financed by the ADFD, according to Khaleej Times.

The project includes the construction of 22 storage facilities for light petroleum products, comprising liquefied petroleum gas and petroleum derivatives.

"The Petroleum Storage Facilities project in Jordan has important economic development benefits. Apart from upgrading the oil sector infrastructure, it is designed to help the Jordanian government address challenges in achieving energy self-sufficiency and securing strategic reserves of petroleum derivatives," director-general of the ADFD Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi said.
