Mubasher: Jordan’s exports exceeded JOD 4.25 billion in 2015, with a growth of 8% compared to JOD 3.94 billion in 2014, according to a report by the Amman Chamber of Industry.
The report, released on Wednesday, said that mining industries sector advanced 51% to JOD 952 million, versus JOD 632 million in 2014.
Arab, Asian and African countries acquired more than half of the chamber’s exports, with a value of JOD 2.51 billion this year, against JOD 2.48 billion in 2014.
(Despite closing boarders between the two countries, Iraq topped the receiver of Jordanian exports with JOD 579 million, compared to JOD 816 million in the previous year.)
Jordan’s exports to Iraq declined to JOD 579 million from JOD 816 million, after the borders between the two countries were closed. Yet, Iraq was Jordan’s top importer.
Saudi Arabia came second with JOD 567 million, followed by India, US, and UAE with JOD 462 million, JOD 395 million and JOD 310 million, respectively.
