Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Jordan is expected to sign an agreement by late 2017 to build the kingdom’s first nuclear power plant at a value reaching around $10 billion, said head of atomic power authority Khalid Tokan.

The statement came on the sidelines of Global Energy Summit currently held in Abu Dhabi.

The official added that the agreement would be signed with Russia’s Rosatom and China’s Shanghai Electric that will build the plant.

Last March, Jordan concluded an agreement with Russia, laying the legal foundations for establishing the kingdom’s first nuclear power plant with a capacity of 2,000 MW.
