Mubasher: Trade balance deficit rose by 10% in Jordan in the first nine months of 2016 compared to the same period last year, according to foreign trade data issued by the department of statistics (DoS), Petra news agency reported.
Total exports declined by 4% year-on-year and reached JOD 3.9 million in the nine-month period, while national exports decreased by 8.8% to JOD 3.2 million.
Imports also went down by 8.1% compared to its level in the same period in 2015, as it reached more than JOD 1 billion.
Trade balance is defined as the difference between the value of total exports and total imports during a specific period of time.
