Jordanian expatriates’ remittances grow 1.5% in 2015

Mubasher: Total remittances of Jordanians working abroad rose 1.5% to JOD 3.8 billion in 2015 from JOD 3.74 billion in 2014, according to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

The remittances of Jordanian expatriates, along with tourism income, help in increasing the kingdom’s foreign exchange reserves and current account.

Foreign reserves of the CBJ grew 1.6% to JOD 12.64 billion in 2015, versus JOD 12.44 billion in 2014.
