Juhayna eyes overseas markets to boost exports

Cairo – Mubasher: Juhayna Food Industries plans to foray into a slew of overseas markets, including Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Ethiopia, and the Middle East countries, in a bid to boost its exports, CEO Seif Thabet told Shorouk News.

Exports account for 6% of Juhayna’s sales, Thabet added, pointing out that the Egypt-listed company is looking forward to doubling exports over the coming period by benefiting from major merits and changes in the Egyptian economy.

Egypt’s pioneering dairy producer is focusing on the African markets due to the huge increase in Egyptian exports to these major markets last year, he highlighted, noting that exports soared by 200% year-on-year to $7.3 billion.

Given that Juhayna had posted an EGP 297.7 million in profit in 2017, compared to EGP 53.6 million a year earlier.
