KFAED mulls healthcare projects in Tunisia under KWD 24m loan

Mubasher: The Kuwait Fund of Arab Economic Development (KFAED) is currently considering providing Tunisia with financing for a number of healthcare projects as part of a KWD 24 million ($79.2 million) loan.

In November, KFAED offered the loan to the North African nation along with a KWD 300,000 ($990,000) grant, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported, citing statements by Kuwait’s ambassador to Tunisia Ali Al-Dhefiri, who had accompanied a KFAED delegation last year.

KFAED is currently conducting a visit to Tunisia.

“The projects include the rehabilitation and upgrading of the casualty departments of a hospital in Al-Aroussa town, Siliana governorate, at a cost of $368,000, and similar projects in Kairouan, Monastir, Gafsa, Sousse, Kebili, and Tozeur,” the ambassador told KUNA.

The KWD 300,000 grant will be used to build four hospital and cancer treatment centre in the capital Tunis, Al-Dhefiri revealed.
