KIA consortium wins London airport deal

Kuwait-Mubasher: The consortium, including Wren House, an arm of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), as well as  Canada's Ontario Teachers' Pension, Borealis and AIMCo, has won a deal to buy London City Airport  for around $2.8 billion, Wall Street Journal reported.

The consortium witnessed a fierce competition from other groups, including the one led by Credit Suisse.

The airport welcomed 3.7 million passengers in 2014, compared with 2.8 million in 2010.

The deal coincides with the Canadians' focus on the purchase of properties in London.
