Kuwait – Mubasher: The profits of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) for fiscal year 2017/2018 stood at KWD 216 million ($715 million), Alanba newspaper reported, citing deputy CEO of Mina Abdulla and Shuaiba Refinery Department Mutlaq Al Azmi as saying.
The refining capacity of Mina Abdulla Refinery is currently 270,000 barrels per day, the top official revealed, noting that the refinery was not impacted by the ongoing maintenance.
Current maintenance operations need 450 workers distributed over 695 pieces of fixed equipment, lighting, electrical, and precision machines with an estimated budget of KWD 950,000, he said.
Maintenance also involves the cooperation of seven contractors to implement the required work, the deputy CEO added.
KNPC is currently preparing the contract form for the sale of its refinery and is in search for companies looking to buy the plant, Al Azmi added, indicating that the company will set up a tender for companies or countries looking to purchase the refinery.
