Mubasher: The chief executive of the state-owned Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) on Sunday announced the beginning of constructing three very large gas carriers (VLGC) at a combined value of KWD 64.9 million ($213.4 million).
The carriers are part of an agreement signed with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) earlier this year to renew KOTC’s fleet, KUNA news agency reported.
Set to be built in line with the state-of-the-art safety and environmental standards, the three 84,000 cbm liquid petroleum gas (LPG) carriers are projected to start delivery in 2019.
