Mubasher: Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's (KPC) unit, Q8, has opened the first high power charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) on the Belgian motorway network.
Built in partnership with IONITY Company, the new station is part of the EUROP-E project, which is co-financed by the EU, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
"I am privileged to take part today in the inauguration of the first of its kind in Belgium electric station operated solely by Q8" KUNA reported, citing Kuwait's ambassador to Belgium, EU, and NATO, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, as saying.
Q8 and IONITY are planning to build 16 charging stations in Belgium.
Based in Germany, IONITY is a joint venture of BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company, and the Volkswagen Group
