KSA, EU to discuss cooperation on energy efficiency mid-January

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia will host the European Union (EU)-Saudi Arabia Energy Efficiency Meeting on 14 January 2018 as part of the initiative jointly launched by the EU and the GCC in a bid to boost Clean Energy Technology Network.

Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and other Saudi entities will participate in the event, which is held in conjunction with the HVACR Expo Saudi 2018 at the Jeddah Center for Forums & Events.

The event will discuss cooperation opportunities between the EU and the kingdom about certification, labeling, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning’s (HVAC) standards.

The EU-Saudi Arabia Energy Efficiency Meeting is forecast to contribute to preserving Saudi energy resources and bolstering the nation's economy.

“SASO is glad to be part of this key initiative in Saudi Arabia, which will contribute in elevating the standards and the quality of HVACR products in the country,” vice governor of standards and laboratories, Abdullah Al-Gahtani said.

“We look forward to sharing our expertise in HVAC technologies at the meeting, to promote energy-efficient and sustainable solutions improving the life quality of the people in the Middle East,” Markus Lattner, director of Eurovent Middle East stated.
