KSA, Kuwait on FTSE Watch List for possible upgrade

Kuwait-Mubasher: FTSE Russel said Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain on the Watch List to be considered for a possible upgrade to the Secondary Emerging Market status.

The list also includes Poland, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, the statement said, adding that FTSE Russell continues to watch Egypt.

The global index and data provider will issue a formal interim update in March 2017 and the next annual review of the FTSE Watch List markets in September 2017.

China A-shares are still on FTSE Watch List for possible inclusion as a Secondary Emerging market, while Argentina and Romania is being considered for inclusion as Frontier and Secondary Emerging markets respectively. In addition, Nigeria is likely to see a possible reclassification to “unclassified”.
