Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has allocated nearly 2% of its budget for scientific research, according to a recent report issued by the education ministry.
It added that the government spent around SAR 16.6 billion on scientific research last year, while non-government spending reached no more than SAR 7.8 billion.
The figures reflect the government's weak spending on scientific research compared to other countries, Al-Watan newspaper reported.
