Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has allocated SAR 14.135 billion for the transportation projects in the Kingdom for 2017, director general of marketing and communication at the Ministry of Transport, Turki Al-Toaimi.
Al-Toaimi added to CNBC Arabia channel that the Kingdom has also allocated SAR 4 billion for the expenses of the maintenance programmes, current projects and preventive maintenance, so as to be deducted from 2017 budget.
The director general noted that there is no period of time specified for the accomplishment of the projects, but most of them would take from 18 to 24 months, pinpointing that most of the projects’ contractors are widely-experienced locals.
By the end of December, KSA announced 2017 budget, estimating the revenues by SAR 692 billion, expenditure by SAR 890 billion and expected deficit of around SAR 198 billion.
