Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi official authorities allocated SAR 173 million as a subsidy in Riyadh and Jeddah to operate the alternative public transport service.
The annual subsidy for operating the service will be SAR 36.5 million in Riyadh and this amount will last for two years, while the amount for Jeddah will be SAR 20 million and it will last for five years, Al-Hayat newspaper cited informed sources.
The High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, and Jeddah Municipality will withdraw the money from the current fiscal year’s budget (1438-1439) Hijri date, the sources added.
The High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh and Jeddah Municipality will sign the contracts with the operator after obtaining regulatory approvals from the Saudi Public Transport Authority (PTA).
