Riyadh – Mubasher: Cement-producing companies operating in Saudi Arabia witnessed a 24.89% decrease in sales in February 2017.
The cement companies sold 4.09 million tonnes of cement in February down from 5.44 million tonnes for the year-ago period.
The companies’ production also decreased by 26% in February reaching 4.04 million tonnes compared to 5.47 million tonnes for the same month of 2016.
In respect to inventory, the country’s cement inventory increased to 1.07 million tonnes in February, up 18.2% year-on-year from 906,000 tonnes.
Yanbu Cement topped cement sales in February as it registered a sales volume of 474,000 tonnes, with a drop of 21.26% year-on-year from 602,000 tonnes.
Southern Province Cement came second after recording 448,000 tonnes in February year-on-year from 726,000, falling 38.3%.
