KSA closes in red on Wednesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday session on negative performance.

The main index shed 0.42% or 26.86 points to stand at 6,354.59 points.

Turnover reached SAR 2.93 billion ($782 million) compared to SAR 3.44 billion ($918 million) on Tuesday.

Traded volume retreated to 156.3 million shares from 185.43 million shares yesterday.

The energy sector was the only gainer adding 0.17%, backed by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) which rose 0.37% to SAR 19.05.

The real estate development sector topped the worst performers falling 1.29%, on the back of Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate Development Company which lost 2.56% to SAR 6.10.

The petrochemical sector also shed 0.29% weighted by Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Co. (SAFCO) which lost 0.23% and 0.38% to SAR 83.75 and SAR 63.50, respectively.

The banks sector decreased 0.15% affected by Al Rajhi Bank and National Commercial Bank (NCB) which were down 0.33% and 0.59% to SAR 58 and SAR 37.20, respectively.

On the other hand, Arabian Pipes Company levelled up 9.72% to SAR 16.25.

On the stock level, 46 shares increased, 108 shares retreated and 15 shares remained unchanged.

SABIC was the most active stock in terms of traded values achieving a turnover of SAR 583 million, while Al Inma Bank was the most active in terms of traded volume exchanging 38.5 million shares. The bank closed at SAR 13.20, down 0.83%.
