Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Arabia accounted for 67% or $10.45 billion of GCC petrochemical exports to China.
The UAE came second with 12% or $1.98 billion, followed by Qatar with 10% ($1.44 billion). Kuwait and Oman captured 6% ($837 million) and 5% ($431 million) of the exports, respectively, while Bahrain dominated 1% or $46 million.
The slowdown of China's economy has not significantly impacted the gulf's petrochemical producers as they continued to boost their exports in 2015.
Petrochemical exports from the Gulf states rose by 5% year-on-year to 13.37 million metric tonnes valued at $15.15 billion in 2014, according to recent data by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA).
The export revenues increased by the same percentage.
