KSA electronic trading profits to reach SAR 25.7bn by end-2016

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi electronic trading's profits are expected to reach SAR 25.7 billion by the end of 2016, adding to the growth of profits rate to 12.53% between 2016 and 2020, Khalid Al Thawadi vice chairman of Telecommunications and Information Technology of East Chamber said.

He added to Makkah newspaper that the number of internet subscribers will reach 50.57% by the end of 2016 and 71.92% in 2020.

Appliances supplied with "Beacon" technology would boost the value of retail sales in the GCC to SAR 13.1 billion in 2018, after achieving success worldwide, Al Thawadi added expecting that its international sales would exceed SAR 165 billion by the end of 2016.

The vice chairman noted that number of internet subscribers increased in GCC, including Saudi Arabia, by more than 30%, which is due to different purchasing habits; he expected that this percentage would jump to 50% by the end of 2017.
