Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia forecasts a decline in malt imports to 8 million tonnes in the current marketing season, down from 9.1 million in the previous season, Reuters reported citing data by the Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO).
On Monday, SAGO concluded the procedures for importing 540,000 tonnes of malt from the European Union, Australia, and North and South America.
This new batch is the sixth batch of malt feed imports for 2017 and will be used to meet local demand.
Following this batch, the total volume of malt imported for 2017 will have reached 6.6 million tonnes, said SAGO governor Ahmed Al Fares.
