KSA export value falls to SAR 57.67bn in June – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: The value of Saudi merchandise exports fell 4% in June 2017, compared to the year-ago period, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said on Monday.

Saudi Arabia’s value of merchandise exports dropped to SAR 57.67 billion in June 2017, from SAR 60.1 billion in June 2016, the GASTAT added.

Month-on-month, the value of the Kingdom’s merchandise exports retreated 7% or SAR 4.36 billion.

Year-on-year, Saudi oil exports edged up 0.8% to reach SAR 45.61 billion ($12.16 billion), compared to SAR 45.24 billion ($12.06 billion).

The Kingdoms’s non-oil exports slid 18.9% to SAR 12.06 billion ($3.22 billion) in June 2017, from SAR 14.86 billion ($3.86 billion) in the same period in the year before.

The plastics and rubber exports decreased 3.6% reaching SAR 4.26 billion in June 2017, compared to SAR 4.42 billion in the corresponding month in the year earlier.

Paper exports surged 19.1% to SAR 235 billion in June 2017, from SAR 197 billion in June 2016.

China’s imports from Saudi Arabia declined 3.7% to reach SAR 1.62 billion in June 2017, compared to SAR 1.69 billion in the same month in 2016.
