KSA halts Brazilian meat imports from 4 firms

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) banned importing beef and poultry and their products from four Brazilian companies.

The companies are JJZ Alimentos SA, Frango Dm Industria e Comercio de Alimentos Ltda, Seara Alimentos, a subsidiary of meatpacking company JBS, and poultry exporter BRF SA, according to an SFDA statement.

The organisation called on consumers to get rid of these companies' products and contacted the related bodies to withdraw these products from the market.

Lately, the Brazilian police accused more than 100 people, mostly from health inspectors, of taking bribes to allow selling spoiled products, not checking export documents, or failing to inspect meatpacking plants.
