KSA lifts additional measures in Al Atheer, isolates city in Dammam

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia decided to lift the additional precautionary measures previously imposed on Al Atheer district in Dammam city starting from Sunday, 3 May, according to the Saudi Ministry of Interior.

Under the decision, the district’s residents will be allowed to commute to meet their needs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Excluded activities were permitted to continue operating in line with the precautionary health directives previously stated.

Moreover, the second industrial city of Dammam will be isolated starting as of Sunday. Entry and exit from the city will be temporarily banned until further notice, except for freight and goods transportation.

Vital factories inside the industrial city were allowed to operate at one-third of their capacities. Managers, engineers, and employees of the factories can enter the city though will not be allowed to leave. 

The interior ministry stressed that the aforementioned measures were taken in light of the efforts exerted by the kingdom to protect the public health against the coronavirus (COVID-19) widespread, subject to continuous evaluation by health authorities.
