Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi minister of transport said that three new airports are likely to be established to join the current 27 Saudi airports. The minister has not mentioned where the airports will be situated.
Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al Hamdan, the president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), added that the small airports will be supported from its fund, Okaz newspaper reported.
The capacity of Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medinah will be raised to 8 million passengers.
Al Hamdan noted that 25 Saudi engineers were assigned to work on the airport, while infrastructure works are ready for the future expansion.
